Parental Plates (2003)

Parental Plates is a video and ceramic installation which was created in 2003 based on interviews with 12 residents in the Savona region of Italy, which was famous for its high quality ceramics in the past. In the video, they held up plates that they had inherited from their parents and ancestors, and they told me various stories relating to the plates. The actual plates were copied at the local ceramic studio. And Korean food served on the copied dishes at the opening.
